Meet Spring Mosquito, a striking biomechanical insect specimen from our Engine Specimen collection.

This one-of-a-kind sculpture is entirely hand-fabricated and welded from salvaged motorcycle and automotive hardware: brake levers, suspension springs, pistons, bearings, bolts, tubing and forged steel wings.

Its form reimagines a mosquito as a living machine. Two broad curved metal wings rise above its segmented mechanical torso, while an intricate cluster of articulated spring-loaded legs hangs below. Every linkage, coil spring and bolt is fully exposed, capturing the fragile, poised stance of an insect ready to take flight. Mounted on a polished steel display stem, it hovers as if suspended mid-air.

The raw aged metal patina carries subtle heat tones, matching the unified aesthetic of the series alongside Aero Manta, Filter Mantis and Pressure Leech. Every weld and assembly is handmade; no two specimens are identical.
