Mechanical Pangolin Sculpture

Nature's digger, rebuilt as a living drill rig.

The pangolin is the only mammal covered in scales, and it is also one of nature's most relentless diggers. This handcrafted sculpture takes that instinct to its extreme: a bronze-scaled pangolin wears a back-mounted mechanized rig, its multi-jointed metal arms hoisting a yellow industrial drill overhead, as if evolution itself had decided to speed up the excavation.

Materials & Craftsmanship

• Hand-shaped resin body covered in layered, overlapping bronze-brown scales that reproduce the pangolin's natural armor
• Deep-brown tapered snout, small detailed eye and short clawed legs
• Silver-toned metal dome mounted on the pangolin's back, with visible rivets and fittings
• Articulated steel armature, multiple ball-jointed metal arms with coil springs and thin hydraulic hoses, supporting the drill rig
• Bright yellow industrial drill body with classic black-and-yellow hazard stripes, topped with chrome valve fittings and coiled metal lines
• Polished gold spiral / step drill bit, the visual centerpiece of the piece

Dimensions

• Length: 18 cm | Height: 18 cm | Depth: 5 cm ( 7.1" × 7.1" × 2.0")
• A compact, near-square profile, equally at home on a desk, bookshelf, or mounted as a wall sculpture.

A piece for collectors Part of our biomechanical creature series, this pangolin is made for lovers of whimsical steampunk ideas, wildlife oddities and industrial-exotic decor. The contrast between the warm, organic bronze scales and the cold, warning-yellow drill rig is the whole point, biology upgraded by engineering. Each piece is hand-assembled, so no two are exactly alike.
