Mechanical Horned Frog Skeleton Sculpture
The Silicon Amphibian — Mechanical Horned Frog Skeleton
Born at the crossroads of carbon and silicon, this mechanical horned frog skeleton is a hand-assembled meditation on where organic life ends and machine anatomy begins.
Every bone has been reimagined as hardware. The cranium is hand-sculpted from resin, its porous surface echoing the texture of real amphibian bone, while large empty orbits give the piece its silent, watchful gaze. Beneath it, a brass gear beats at the center of an open ribcage, the mechanical heart of the creature. A spine of stacked nuts and bolts runs down its back, leading to a steering-wheel pelvis and four fully articulated limbs built from bearings, springs, threaded rods, and precision machined joints. Each slender toe is individually jointed, gripping the air as if mid-leap.

This is not a toy. It is a sculptural object, a frozen moment in an imagined evolutionary branch where amphibians learned to build themselves from scrap. Display it on a shelf, in a cabinet of curiosities, or as the centerpiece of a steampunk or industrial interior. Each one carries the fingerprints of its maker and the quiet soul of a creature that never existed.
Handcrafted by WMHand. Because each piece is built by hand, minor variations in component placement and finish are part of its character.
