Mechanical Heteropteryx Dilatata

Mechanical Giant Stick Insect (Heteropteryx Dilatata) Art Sculpture

This artwork is built upon a real giant stick‑insect specimen. We embedded intricate vintage watch gears, cogs and mechanical components into its abdomen.

Organic biological form collides with cold precision machinery. The original natural silhouette of the insect is fully preserved, while exposed internal steampunk mechanics reveal an imagined mechanical circulatory system beneath its exoskeleton.

Each gear assembly is hand‑fitted and assembled. It is a one‑of‑a‑kind deconstructed art piece, exploring the boundary where carbon‑based life meets silicon‑infused machinery.
