Mechanical Dynastes Neptunus Sculpture
This one‑of‑a‑kind steampunk biomechanical sculpture is built upon a genuine Dynastes Neptunus beetle specimen, merging natural organic form with retro steam‑powered machinery.
Vintage watch movements, precision brass gears and metal linkages are meticulously assembled onto the beetle’s body to construct a fictional steam‑engine power core. A warm orange LED light is embedded inside, simulating the glowing glow of burning coal, bringing the imaginary steam‑powered beetle to life. A vacuum‑tube component is mounted on its iconic long horn as part of the power unit.
Legs are re‑engineered with custom mechanical metal articulations. Natural translucent beetle wings are fully spread to showcase the contrast between organic biological texture and cold intricate metal mechanics.
The artwork arrives mounted inside a dark wood shadow‑box display frame with glass front for dust protection.
Perfect for steampunk collection, oddity cabinet display, distinctive desktop decor or an extraordinary art gift.
Note: This is hand‑modified specimen art piece, not a living insect. Delicate fine mechanical parts, please handle with care.
