Hastus – Handmade Mechanical Billfish Automaton Sculpture, Cyber-Organic Salvaged Metal Marine Creature Art

Streamlined for deep-ocean pursuit, this automaton bears a piercing rostrum for probing and striking. Its rear propeller assembly generates thrust, while flexible corrugated hoses circulate pressure fluid across its metallic torso. The keyhole ocular aperture serves as its primary sensory lens, scanning dim undersea depths.

Forged entirely from salvaged industrial scrap: steel tubing, brass fittings, repurposed hardware and vintage machine fragments. Every curve and seam is hand-welded, shaped and polished by hand, retaining the raw, textured patina of reclaimed metal. Mounted on a solid steel display base for stable presentation.

A one-of-a-kind found-object sculpture, perfect for collectors of biopunk, steampunk, deep-sea speculative life and mechanical marine art.
