Biomechanical Eupatorus Gracilicornis

This unique biomechanical artwork is built upon a real five‑horned rhinoceros beetle specimen, presented within a classic black shadow box frame for wall or shelf display.

We have detached the beetle’s original elytra (shells) from its body and mount them as separate components inside the frame. This design simulates the scene of mechanical disassembly, maintenance and overhaul, allowing viewers a full, unobstructed view of the complex internal mechanical core.

The beetle’s abdomen is densely packed with hand‑fitted vintage watch gears, precision springs, metal cylinders and intricate mechanical assemblies. Every tiny gear and connector is manually assembled, blending the natural morphology of the beetle with retro‑futuristic steampunk machinery.

Translucent golden‑toned hind‑wings are fully spread. The two separated elytra are placed on either side of the main beetle body, as if taken apart for inspection and repair.

Encased in a solid shadow box frame, this piece is ready‑to‑display. It is a rare collectible for cabinet of curiosities, gallery decor, steampunk and biomechanical art enthusiasts.

The box measures roughly 12.0 inches x 12.0 inches x 2.0 inches.

Note: Hand‑modified real insect specimen art, not a toy. Delicate mechanical components require gentle handling. Keep away from moisture and direct sunlight.
